Welcome to the Troop 609 Scout Managed web-site

Our Vision

To have an efficient Boy led Troop offering Leadership and Training

while having fun and learning some life skills along the way.

About Our Troop:

Troop 609 is part of the Boy Scouts of America in the Western Los Angeles County Council, Bill Hart District. We generally have about 50 scouts. We were founded in 1970 and have been chartered by the First Presbyterian Church of Newhall for the last 30 years. Like most scout troops, we use the patrol method where each scout is part of a patrol of 8 or more boys. There are scouts of all ages and ranks involved in the troop. We participate in a very active outings program with a variety of trips and activities throughout the year, including backpacking, car camping, hiking and others. (see some pictures from our recent adventures/historian page)

The troop also attends Summer camp and the District Camporee every year. Summer camp is a week long (Sunday to Saturday) session at an established scout camp.
