**July 27-31 Colorado River Canoe Trek

Exact days and price will be determined when the Troop decides which pullout point and exactly how many days.

We get clearance and permits to put in at the base of Hoover Dam, and then we paddle down river pulling over on sandy beaches every evening when the sun gets low.  Our pullout point will be to either backtrack upriver to Willow Beach Marina Arizona, near Nelson's Landing Nevada, or put in a full 50-miler and go to Cottonwood Cove Nevada.

This is one of those incredible lifetime trips!

Cost TBD.  Usually we keep it below $300/person including gas, food, shuttle service, canoe, PFD and paddle and dry bag gear rental, and river access permits.

Requirements:  1.  No first-year Scouts on this high-adventure (HAT) outing.  This is deep desert wilderness which is more rugged than normal camping and we need to be completely self-sufficient without support.  2.  All participants must be BSA Swimmer level.  Passing the Swimmer level of the swim test is required within 12 months before the trip for Scouts and Adults.  Most Scouts pass that test at summer camp, but we will provide the test at a local swimming pool for any who need it.

Signup here.  We'll be pushing to finish signups early in the year so we can get our federal launch access permits.

Soooo looking forward to sitting in a camp chair knee-deep in water watching the sun set while eating dinner!
