Total trip cost...probably will end up about $350/person to cover canoe/PFD/drybag rentals and shuttle vans, troop vehicle gas, groceries, first night campsite fee, parking at the dam, etc. Trip pre-requisites: All participants must be able to pass the BSA Swimmer level test (same as summer camp: jump in deep water, comfortably swim four lengths of a pool, float for a minute), must have camped overnight with the troop before the trip (a remote wilderness being completely self-sufficient is not the place for a first campout), must wear a PFD (life vest) at all times while on or in the water, must have a BSA Health Form Part C (signed by a clinician) on file with the troop because the trip is longer than 72 hours.
